In case you are making the purchase on behalf of someone else (that is, someone other than you will be the Sitefinity license holder) you can provide us with their contact information, which should include email address, and we will active the license under that account. They will receive an automatic email with download instructions and we will send an electronic invoice to the billing contact details.
Also, you can transfer an already purchased Sitefinity license to another license holder. We just need the current license holder to contact us with the license transfer request.
We will discuss your needs and provide you with a price estimate. You can then simply sign the estimate, which will be treated as a binding purchase order, or you can send us a purchase order. In both cases we’ll issue an invoice and activate the product license(s) right away. You will have 30 days to remit payment. Alternatively, we can generate a pro forma invoice and activate the license(s) upon receiving payment.
We accept bank transfers, checks and all major credit cards as form of payment.
Our products are delivered electronically and are available for download in your account. Once your payment is processed, you will receive 2 e-mails: one with payment details and another one with the download instructions. If you do not receive the e-mails, please contact our sales team, so we can help you quickly.
All license upgrades include one year of maintenance and support. Therefore, when you upgrade your license you would get one year of maintenance from the day of the upgrade. For example, if you purchased a Sitefinity Professional Edition license in May 2018, and upgraded to Enterprise Edition in September, 2018, the license maintenance will be extended until September 2019.
Renewing your Sitefinity license maintenance is the most cost-effective way for your business to benefit from the latest technology and product innovation for web, mobile and digital marketing. You will receive major product updates, weekly bug fixes, technical support and much more.
Yes, upgrades from one Sitefinity edition or package to another are seamless. Once you purchase an upgrade, all you have to do is replace the product license file to unlock additional capabilities for your Sitefinity version. The Sitefinity instance and websites will not be affected and you will not lose any content or modules. Configurations will also be preserved.
All domain, server and feature add-ons are bound to the maintenance of the underlying Sitefinity Edition license they are associated with, so that add-on maintenance is renewable at the same date as the license regardless of when an add-on was purchased or associated with the license. Similar to the underlying license, the add-on maintenance renewal rate is 30% of the respective list price.
Sitefinity DX comes with a predefined number of concurrent backend users. Additional Backend Users are available as add-ons. Sitefinity DX + Enterprise Package comes with Unlimited Backend Users. Compare purchasing options side-by-side here.
No, you don't need to purchase additional licenses because every Sitefinity license comes with unlimited number of sub-domains for non-production purpose such as development, testing, staging, etc. Please, contact us and we will issue you the respective license keys. Note that you can use the localhost domain for development purposes with any license key.
No, you are not allowed to use the included additional Telerik products outside the scope of your Sitefinity projects. You can learn more about the licensing of the included developer tools. If you would like to use these products for other projects, you may purchase them separately.
There are two cases when you can have several domain names all pointing to the same website:
1. Domain Alias is a domain name that is used as an alternative name for another domain. For example, if the primary domain name is "original.com" and a Domain Alias is registered for "alias.com", then “http://www.original.com” and http://www.alias.com will take visitors to the exact same pages of the “original.com” website. Furthermore, http://original.com/somefile.html will bring visitors to the exact same page as http://alias.com/somefile.html.
2. Domain Forwarding (URL Redirect) allows redirection of web requests for the parked domain name to content hosted on a different server. In case of Domain Forwarding when a visitor attempts to access the forwarded domain, the web browser automatically redirects to the specified website.
In both cases you would NOT need separate Sitefinity licenses for each domain alias/forwarded domain. In the case of domain aliases, please contact sales with the list of domain aliases, and we will generate additional license keys for you. Please, note that in order to register a domain alias, you need to have a license with active support subscription. Prior to issuing of the new domain name licenses, you will need to sign an Annex to the Sitefinity EULA. In the case of domain forwarding, it would be sufficient if you generate the Sitefinity license key for the primary domain name only.
Yes, you may develop your project with the 30-day trial of the respective Sitefinity edition that you plan to purchase. After your trial period expires, you need to purchase a license in order to continue with your development. After you purchase a license, you can apply the new license file to the trial project and continue with your development and project launch. For more details on how to apply the license key to your Sitefinity project, please refer to the "Activating a license" section of the Sitefinity Documentation.
A support incident is defined as a single support issue with the SOFTWARE and the reasonable effort required to resolve it.
A single support incident is a support problem which cannot be broken down into secondary issues. A single support incident may involve several emails and offline work in order to be resolved.
The customer needs to provide Progress with detailed information about the problem encountered. Though Progress Support Engineers will make reasonable efforts to resolve the issue, Progress does not guarantee any problem resolution.
All bug reports and product feature suggestions are not considered to constitute support incidents
The number of users who are authorized to access the Sitefinity administration and who are logged in the same time. These users may include content editors, administrators, web designers, publishers, etc. The total number of users/accounts that may be registered in the system is unlimited; however only a certain number of users may log in at the same time depending on your license. As soon as someone logs out, another user can log in.
The Sitefinity licensing model is domain-based, meaning that with a single license you can register a given domain name (mywebsite.com). Sitefinity will allow you to register unlimited number of sub-domains for non-production purposes such as development and testing. We've packaged Sitefinity in five different editions tailored to different solutions. Most notably, the versions differ in the number of concurrent CMS editors and feature sets. A complete comparison table of all editions is available on our Editions Page. All Sitefinity licenses are onetime fee (perpetual), with annual service subscription fee for access to product updates and support service.
The license allows you to install the software on unlimited number of physical, virtual, or cloud servers, though some licenses impose a restriction on the total number of servers that the software can run on in a production environment.

Sitefinity can switch freely between Web Forms and MVC. Each Sitefinity template has 3 modes: Web Forms, MVC and hybrid mode - where MVC controllers and Web Forms controls can exist on the same page. Sitefinity’s MVC implementation is fully aligned with Microsoft’s and existing MVC code works ‘as in’ in Sitefinity.
Sitefinity allows you easy management of unlimited number of websites, hosted in a single Sitefinity application. This unique approach allows for content and template reuse across multiple websites. Different modules can be enabled/disabled for the different websites, thus every site can have its own configuration. Contact us to find more about the multisite licensing model.
You can download a fully-functional Sitefinity trial or experiment with Sitefinity with the Online Sandbox. The downloadable trial gives you the opportunity to evaluate Sitefinity in your own environment and would be the best fit if you want to develop a Proof of Concept. The online sandbox is recommended for business users as it is the easiest way to get hands on experience with the Sitefinity interface – no download or installation needed.

We know these things happen and we provide you with the ability to purge old contact profiles. For example you can purge old profiles of anonymous people who haven’t engaged with your brand for more than one year. You can also upgrade your plan by contacting us. If you continue to exceed your limit for two months in a row, we will review your account and contact you to discuss your case. We will never stop your service or charge you for anything without consulting with you first.
A contact profile represents a single record for a person in your customer journey database who can be an anonymous website user or a known contact.
If the same person visits your website from three devices, the system will create three unique profiles for him or her, but once the person provides identifiable information (e.g. email address) or authenticates from these devices, the system will consolidate all three profiles into a single one.
Sitefinity Insight enables you to track and capture all customer information, online behavior and engagement points from your websites and systems a central place. We refer to this place as the customer journey database, which is a highly scalable and optimized for performance database.
No, the limit on contact profiles is per end customer and it doesn’t depend on the number of Sitefinity CMS domains or licenses you have purchased. To purchase more contact profiles please contact our sales team.
