Getting Started with
Progress Sitefinity
Time and time again, we get asked the same questions by Sitefinity users. So, we decided to compile the answers into a getting started guide for our users—new and old alike.
Step 1: Getting Started:
The Account Portal is the place where you manage your downloaded Sitefinity files, licenses, upgrades, licensed users and support tickets.
- Go to your Sitefinity account
- Enter your email address
- Use the password you selected during the account activation process
Step 2: Download Sitefinity and Install:
- From the Downloads page, select Sitefinity to view the available installation packages
- Follow the instructions in the documentation article “Install Sitefinity"
Step 3: Generate a License Key:
- To obtain your license, open the Sitefinity License Management page of your account
- Apply the license to your Sitefinity website
You can use the license for an application for one top level domain and as many domain aliases as you need.
Step 4: Add and Manage Licensed Developers:
Licensed developers receive their own accounts and can download Sitefinity, contact support services, and collaborate on support tickets.
- Open the Manage Licensed Users page
- Expand the license to which you want to assign to someone and click the “Assign user to license” link
- Enter all details to notify by email
