Getting Started with
Progress Sitefinity

Time and time again, we get asked the same questions by Sitefinity users. So, we decided to compile the answers into a getting started guide for our users—new and old alike.

Step 1: Getting Started:

The Account Portal is the place where you manage your downloaded Sitefinity files, licenses, upgrades, licensed users and support tickets.

  1. Go to your Sitefinity account
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Use the password you selected during the account activation process

Step 2: Download Sitefinity and Install:

  1. From the Downloads page, select Sitefinity to view the available installation packages
  2. Follow the instructions in the documentation article “Install Sitefinity"

Step 3: Generate a License Key:

  1. To obtain your license, open the Sitefinity License Management page of your account
  2. Apply the license to your Sitefinity website
You can use the license for an application for one top level domain and as many domain aliases as you need.

 

Step 4: Add and Manage Licensed Developers:

Licensed developers receive their own accounts and can download Sitefinity, contact support services, and collaborate on support tickets.

  1. Open the Manage Licensed Users page
  2. Expand the license to which you want to assign to someone and click the “Assign user to license” link
  3. Enter all details to notify by email
