Build Without Boundaries: Join the KendoReact Free Components Challenge!

by Kathryn Grayson Nanz Posted on September 10, 2025

We’re at it again! Join us for another fun hackathon challenge! (And win prizes!)

If you’re still feeling the FOMO from not participating in our last Progress KendoReact Free Challenge with Dev.to, worry not—you’re about to get another chance!

From September 10 to 28, you can build something awesome as part of the KendoReact Free Component Challenge and win up to $3,000 in prizes. Yep, you read that right: three challenges, each with a $1000 cash prize.

Dev Challenges & Progress KendoReact. $3,000 in prizes – starts Sept 10

To get yourself in the running, all you need to do is build a React app of your choice that includes at least 10 KendoReact Free components—and just like that, you’re eligible for a $1k prize. The app can be about anything, do anything, solve anything—or just be something you made for fun, to try out something you’ve been curious about. No limits, no boundaries: just your own brilliant ideas, brought to life with KendoReact Free components.

If you want to really shoot for the stars, though, you’ll want to check out our two bonus categories—each one with an additional $1k prize.

  • Code Smarter, Not Harder challenges you to build your KendoReact Free app with the help of our KendoReact AI Coding Assistant. You can use it however you like—ask it questions like a pair programming partner using the VS Code CoPilot extension, or go full vibe coder and let it generate your code with Agent mode / MCP. Just document how you used it in your submission! This is an especially great tool for folks who haven’t used KendoReact components before.
  • RAGs to Riches invites you to meet the newest member of the Progress family: Progress Agentic RAG. (Nuclia is now Progress Agentic RAG.) This RAG-as-a-service tool makes deploying Agentic RAG a breeze. Include a Progress Agentic RAG feature in your KendoReact Free app—like their super-powerful AI search or Generated Q&A—and get yourself in the running for this bonus challenge!
