We get it, social media has been around for a long time and could be thought of as old hat by now, but we’re excited about our newly launched channels dedicated to all things OpenEdge.

The OpenEdge team has had so much stuff happening and we wanted to be sure you, our customers, partners, friends and followers can find all that you need on OpenEdge quickly without having to scroll, and scroll, and then scroll again to find the latest and greatest. That’s why we recently launched three new dedicated channels for OpenEdge on Twitter, Facebook  and LinkedIn.

You’ll still find great OpenEdge news via our Progress social media channels for a little while, but we have lots of great stuff in store just for the followers of our new OpenEdge channels in the coming weeks. Our Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn pages will be sharing news on our latest releases, posts to blogs, videos, new whitepapers and reports and anything you need to help evolve and modernize your OpenEdge application. We also will have lots of questions we will be asking you...and maybe even doing a fun little giveaway from time to time. As part of our launch (you’ll have to find the posts and start to follow us), we will be sharing pictures of some fun swag we will be sending to our new followers in the coming weeks.

And if you want to be the star of our channel and share any of your OpenEdge news, please do not hesitate to DM, PM, Tweet, or even @ us your OpenEdge news. We are only as successful as our customers are, and love shouting from the rooftops about our customers’ and partners’ successes.

OE open eyes

Summertime Is the Best Time

I know I sound like a broken record, but summertime really is the best time to take advantage of all the great programming we have on tap for OpenEdge.

Just last month we had a live panel discussion on Migrating to OpenEdge 12. That talked about the value and benefits of migrating to the OpenEdge 12 series. The discussion was so much fun as our team shared real experiences as they’ve helped our customers and partners migrate to OpenEdge 12. And if you look really hard, you might see a cameo by the dog of one of our speakers. I’m not sharing who, you’ll have to watch to see if you can find him!

On June 25 we are going to be joined by one of our customers, State Electric Supply Co., and one of our partners, Americaneagle.com, who will be discussing how State Electric evolved its OpenEdge application and modernized its customer experience with Progress. I’m super excited for this webinar because it combines two of the Progress solutions—OpenEdge and Sitefinity.

And just a few days ago the OpenEdge team hosted another panel discussion on migrating from Classic to Progress Application Server for OpenEdge. Migrating to PAS for OpenEdge is the first step in achieving a modern, evolved application architecture that will continue to add value to your organization as user and business demands shift and change. If you missed the live event—the on-demand version is ready for you to watch.

P.S. Don’t Forget

The OpenEdge team has been hard at work, and our team has the dedicated social channels for you to find the latest and greatest news on OpenEdge. Don’t forget to follow, like, tweet and share our new channels with your friends, colleagues and fans. We promise to have a lot of fun along the way.
