Progress Named One of the Best Places To Work

Forbes and the Boston Business Journal honored Progress as a top employer in the U.S., Bulgaria and Massachusetts.

Progress is ranked among the Forbes Best Midsize Employers in America for 2021 and is listed in the Boston Business Journal’s Best Places to Work. Additionally, Progress was selected as the company with the best employee business practices over the past year in Bulgaria, earning Employer of 2021 at the Forbes Business Awards for the second year in a row.

The awards from these prestigious organizations acknowledge the company’s longstanding commitment to employee engagement and satisfaction. The Forbes and Boston Business Journal rankings are based directly on the positive feedback from the employees who participated in the surveys.

“Our people at Progress have always been our strength—how we work together and treat one another makes Progress a great place to work,” Progress CEO Yogesh Gupta said. “And over the last year, the mutual respect and trust we have for our colleagues worldwide has only gotten stronger. As we celebrate our 40th anniversary as a company, we are thrilled to be recognized by such respected organizations, and more importantly by our employees, as one of the best places to work.”

During COVID-19, Progress has made the health and safety of employees the top priority. When the pandemic hit, the company quickly transitioned its global workforce to work from home. Leaders focused on frequent, regular communications including executive updates, virtual team building and more, to ensure employees stayed informed and engaged.

Health and work-from-home resources were also provided to enable employees to continue to contribute effectively. Progress expanded its training and development opportunities and established a mentorship program. As a result of these efforts, and the ability of people to come together under unprecedented circumstances, Progress was able to continue to serve customers and thrive throughout the year.

Progress also won two awards given annually by the American Business Awards (Stevies). “Progress for Tomorrow: Giving Back to the Communities We Serve” took home the gold in the Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year category for organizations with up to 2,500 employees. Chief People Officer Katie Kulikoski won bronze in the Human Resources Executive of the Year category. She also received gold in the category of Chief Human Resources Officer of the Year for the 2020 Great Employer (Stevie) Awards.

Progress is an inclusive company that celebrates the diverse backgrounds and experiences of all people. It is a company where people are valued for who they are, and employees recognize that working at Progress is rewarding, challenging and fun.

Progress and its employees are also committed to the communities in which we live and work. In the last year, Progress donated more than $250,000 to employee-chosen charities focused on social justice, domestic violence, child endangerment and COVID-19 related causes.

To promote STEM education among young women, Progress established and granted the Mary Székely Scholarship for Women in STEM. And, to combat social injustice Progress became a founding member of the MassTLC Tech Compact for Social Justice with the goal of doubling the representation of Black and Indigenous people of color (BIPOC) in the Massachusetts tech industry.
