What a start of the year! It’s just February and we’ve already won four awards for outstanding human capital initiatives and social responsibility. Our commitment to lending a hand to those in need and encouraging our colleagues to engage with and support social causes didn’t go unnoticed. Read on to learn more.
For more than six years, the SOS Children’s Villages, the world's largest charity working with orphaned and abandoned children, has been a dear friend of ours. We are proud to have been recognized as one of the most valuable partners for the second consecutive year. Our partnership goes beyond the traditional financial support – we’ve made it a tradition to gather with the children we support on special occasions and spend time together. These are the most precious and rewarding moments of working together.
We were honored with this award for encouraging our colleagues to individually get engaged with SOS Children’s Villages. Every year, representatives of the initiative visit our office to present their program for individual donors, SOS Friend. Everyone interested can join and donate small monthly amounts to make lives of children better. According to SOS Children’s Villages website, this type of funding provides long-term high-quality care for 500 underprivileged kids in Bulgaria. Almost 50 colleagues became individual donors in June 2017 and even more had already joined the program in its previous campaigns in our office.
The silver mark of excellence is for all colleagues that are part of the program and donate money monthly to make the lives of the children better. The mark is given by BCause Foundation, Bulgarian HR Association and Bulgarian PR Association.
In addition to SOS Children’s Villages, Progress encourages employees to support many more causes close to their hearts. For example, in December, we had a Holiday Vibes Week with many activities associated with donation, including a marketplace with homemade food and crafts on sale to raise money (pictured left). We also have a special program that encourages employees to take time off to volunteer for a cause they feel strongly about.
We were excited to win first place in the Excellence in Coaching category at B2BMedia’s Employer Branding Awards last month (pictured left, along with the below award). The recognition honors our outstanding global coaching program created and driven by the Human Capital team. At Progress, the coaching approach is used to improve employee performance, develop leaders and help the Human Capital team partner successfully with the business. It gives employees the power to use their potential, values and competences to transform and improve not only their performance but also their professional path.
At the beginning of 2017, our Human Capital team embarked on a journey for defining our Employer Value Proposition (EVP)—the unique advantages that we offer as an employer. They show potential employees what they will find at Progress beyond the formal presentation of the company. Defining these unique advantages was not an easy task. The project lasted 14 months and 100 people took part in it.
Creating an inspiring workplace where our colleagues can not only develop professionally but also can contribute to social causes they deeply care about is one of the best parts of working at Progress.
