Making Small Changes For Big Impact

By encouraging the use of water dispensers in its Burlington, MA and Sofia, BG offices, Progress saved 115,070 plastic water bottles and avoided an estimated 9,527 kgCO2e. In addition, the Burlington, MA office composted 6,082 pounds of discarded food and organic material, an equivalent of 4,111 net pounds of CO2 saved.

Vesko is based in Bulgaria and leads the efforts to mitigate Progress’ environmental impact across the globe. He has led extensive efforts to improve our footprint worldwide, including replacing several of our company vehicles with electric ones, installing electric charging stations at our facilities, and installing roofing at our corporate headquarters in accordance with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards.

Edwin is based out of our Morrisville, North Carolina office and supervises our Morrisville and Alpharetta, Georgia offices. He is responsible for many green efforts in those locations, including a composting initiative in Morrisville. In just the first month, employees were able to compost over 75 lbs. (34 kg) of material, decrease the amount of waste going to landfills, and help support local agriculture.

Debby is based in our Rotterdam, Netherlands office and oversees operations in our EMEA region. This includes the streamlining of our sustainability efforts across various countries’ legislations. Debby also manages Progress’ largest fleet of vehicles and is instrumental in our efforts to utilize hybrid and electric vehicles whenever possible.

Meet Andrey Georgiev

Manager,
Workplace Operations

Andrey works in Sofia, Bulgaria and manages the operation and environmental impact of our Sofia office. His efforts are instrumental in carrying out numerous green activities by our employees. Recently, his team supported the initiative “Caps for the Future,” where roughly 45 lbs. (20 kg) of plastic caps were collected and donated to help purchase incubators for premature infants at hospitals throughout Bulgaria.

“An automatic dishwasher uses less hot water than doing dishes by hand -- an average of six gallons less, or more than 2,000 gallons per year. Conserving water is an important topic with increasing droughts throughout the year. We have energy-efficient dishwashers installed in the majority of our office locations, helping save water while keeping our energy usage low.”
