In this interview, Alek Przybylo, Process Engineer at Boeing, is interviewed by David Gorbet, SVP of Product at MarkLogic. They discuss how Boeing models processes for large scale airplane manufacturing using MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering). No plane is the same, and each plane has hundreds of thousands of parts. Alek’s job is to provide the models that mimic the entire process from start to finish. They want to translate stakeholder needs into IT requirements with the goal of providing end-to-end traceability for user needs, from defining the user requirements to product certifications and perforamnce. It’s complex work, and MarkLogic’s semantic graph capabilities within the context of a multi-model database are key to their success.
