As the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine rages on, our hearts and minds are with friends, families and loved ones, and all of the people in the region, who are doing everything they can to stay alive and safe.

The tragic loss of life weighs heavily on us all. But with every adversity the human spirit eventually rises. From the parents leaving strollers at train stations for incoming refugees and people opening their homes to total strangers, to businesses large and small making donations and honoring the sanctions put forth by countries around the globe, the outpouring of support is truly uplifting.

At Progress, we greatly value all human life and condemn all forms of discrimination, hatred and inhumanity. These toxic forces undermine the values we hold dear and that we work to cultivate in our company and our communities. We strongly condemn Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine and related actions, which have left thousands dead and injured and millions displaced from their homes. That is why we are working to do our part to contribute to the humanitarian effort.

I am proud to say that Progressers around the world have been volunteering their time, holding charity drives and have donated goods and services to charities across the region. Our employee resource groups (ERGs) have also put forth funds to support the effort and as a company we have pledged $100,000 to the World Health Organization Emergency Appeal for Ukraine, all in an effort to lend a hand to those devastated by the crisis. Like other tech companies, Progress is boycotting doing business in Russia and Belarus in response to the US sanctions.

As business leaders, it is critical for us to come together, to clearly state what we stand for and to bring change within our own spheres of influence. That is why we are asking those in our community to stand alongside us, to join the effort, in whatever way you can. Even the smallest contribution to organizations such as Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, UNICEF, World Health Organization Emergency Appeal for Ukraine, and many more, can make a difference.
