Irfan Syed

Irfan Syed is the Product Manager for Progress OpenEdge at Progress Software, with over 18 years of industry experience and 15 years at Progress. During his tenure, he has worked across a broad range of Progress products, developing deep expertise in enterprise platforms, application runtimes, and modern backend architectures.

Irfan has played a key role in advancing OpenEdge, including significant contributions to the Progress Application Server for OpenEdge. In recent years, his work has increasingly focused on AI-driven and agentic technologies, where he led the development of the OpenEdge MCP Server and its integration with Progress Agentic RAG. This work has helped position OpenEdge within modern, agent-based and AI-augmented application architectures, enabling developers to integrate intelligent capabilities into mission-critical enterprise systems.
