We made it! We are here San Francisco at Integrate 2016 and we are super excited to sponsor our first hackathon! Are you up for our challenge?
We are proud to be hosting the first ever hackathon challenge featuring interoperability with OData at API World on Sep 10-11. OData (Open Data Protocol) is an OASIS standard that defines a set of best practices for building and consuming RESTful APIs. Progress DataDirect serves on the OData Technical Committee and promotes the adoption and advancement of all open standards for data access.
In 2005 there were 105 open APIs, today there are more than 15,000. 40 new APIs are made public every week. We help you simplify integration by enabling you to expose a wide range of data sources with a single standard interface (REST or SQL).
Stop by and meet the Progress DataDirect team. The hackathon is located at General Assembly:
225 Bush Street, 5th Floor
San Francisco, CA 94104
The Challenge: Build an app for voice assistant services using the OData API. Discover why connectivity is the new integration. With 40 APIs made public every week, you need a new way to connect your apps to various data sources. This challenge helps you understand how to simplify integration using OData.
Challenge details: https://github.com/saiteja09/Integrate2016
1. You have to build the skill that can connect to at least two CRM solutions and the questions that you ask should be interoperable between the CRM Solutions. Example CRM Solutions that you can work on are Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Sugar CRM.
2. You have to consume OData API in order to develop the skill. We recommend using Progress DataDirect Cloud to generate OData feed from the CRM Solutions that you are interested with.
You could win early $8,000 worth of prizes (winning idea) and at the same time get your startup on the path to unicorn status.
The Prize package includes*:
$1,500 Cash Prize
1 Year Progress DataDirect Cloud Basic Plan (with 5 sources): $2,500 value
Kendo UI Devcraft Ultimate (2 licenses): $3,998 value
*Digital cash prize and product licenses to be delivered upon receival of valid email address
We are having an awesome time here! It is so exciting to be in a place with so much innovation and so many ideas. Here are some pictures of our experience so far.
Due in Q4, “Hybrid Data Pipeline” simplifies integration by connecting directly to data. It exposes a wide range of data sources with a single standard interface (REST and SQL). And it supports standards-based APIs, like ODBC, JDBC and OData, to allow existing applications to readily take advantage of its features.
We are super excited to introduce it at Integrate 2016!
For more information, sign up for a test drive of Hybrid Data Pipeline.
