Role-based permissions for widgets
When working with Sitefinity CMS, any user creating or editing a page can use all of enabled widgets in the toolbox. If you want to restrict certain widgets or an entire section, so that they are only available to users of a specific role, you can implement a toolbox filter.

This tutorial demonstrates how to implement a toolbox filter that allows only Administrators to use the News widget. To do this, you first implement IToolboxFilter interface and then, you replace the default implementation.
Role-based toolbox filtering using item parameter
You hide widgets by creating a new toolbox item parameter - DisallowedRoles - and setting a list of roles that do not have permission to use the specific widget.
