Page translation specifics

Page in the source language, no page in the target language

If you have a page created in the source language and you do not have a page created in the target language, when you send such a page for translation from the source language to the target language, Sitefinity CMS automatically creates the translated page and it is synced with the default one.

Page in the source language, split page in the target language

  • If you have a page in the source language and a split page in the target language, when you send for translation the split page, after translation the split page is preserved. Sitefinity CMS does not create a new page, but imports the translated content in the existing page.
  • If you have a page in the source language and a split page in the target language, when you send for translation the source page, the split page will be lost and another split page will be automatically replace it.

EXAMPLE: You have a page in English, which is default and you have a split page in German that has different widgets and structure from the default page. If you send the English page for translation from English to German, the split page will be lost and Sitefinity CMS will create another split German version of the English page. If you send the German split page for translation to German, after the translation import, that page structure will be preserved.
