Course Description

In this course, you will be introduced to the features and components of the Progress® OpenEdge® RDBMS database, and the two OpenEdge application servers (PAS for OpenEdge and the classic Application Server). In addition, you will learn about the tools you can use to manage and monitor the databases and application servers.

This course is available as Instructor-Led Training and online with a subscription to the Progress Education Community.

After taking this course, you should be able to:

  • Describe the OpenEdge RDBMS, its components, and administration tools.
  • Describe PAS for OpenEdge, its components, and administration tools.
  • Describe the classic AppServer, its components, and administration tools.

Prerequisites

Students should already have working knowledge of database, server, and security concepts.

Visit the Progress Education Community (PEC) and log in with your Progress ID. If you do not have a Progress ID, follow the instructions to register for one.
