Junior HRIS Specialist - Workday

As a Junior HRIS Specialist, you will be supporting our HRIS with various Workday-related tasks such as processing all incoming support tickets, providing technical assistance to internal system users, developing simple reporting, and participating in data integrity audits. You are an analytical-minded self-starter who is eager to dive right in and make an immediate impact.  As you progress in the role you will be the first line contact for internal users for questions related to Workday and employee data and will get the chance to partner with other People team functions to collect feedback and assist with the delivery of functional enhancements in Workday. We hope you come in with a fresh set of eyes and a willingness to ask “why does it work that way?”  
Here are some of the challenges you will be dealing with:    

  • Monitor and respond to tickets entered in our internal ticketing system (ServiceNow) or escalate to other HRIS Team members for resolution/prioritization 
  • Create, maintain, and support a variety of simple reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools and assist in the development of standard reports 
  • Assist People Experience Team members to ensure data integrity through audits. Troubleshoot and correct data issues and help conduct root cause analysis to identify recommendations for preventing similar issues in the future or make corrections where possible 
  • Escalate complex issues to other HRIS staff if needed 
  • Participate in testing and new feature adoption as part of Workday bi-annual releases or other internal releases. 
  • Assist with communication and change management efforts for business-critical Workday processes 

On day one, we will expect you to have:    

  • Functional understanding of core HR business terminology, processes, and practices 
  • Some previous experience with Workday or other Human Resources Information Systems is a great advantage 
  • Complimentary educational background in HR, Business Administration or relevant field is a plus 
  • Excellent English language and interpersonal communication skills with a strong customer focus – you should feel confident communicating with various internal stakeholders across the organization. 
  • Process-oriented mindset with effective organizational skills 
  • Solid problem-solving and technical skills with high attention to detail
