This course reviews the best practices for maintaining your WhatsUp Gold database and techniques for reducing its size. It also reviews the steps to migrate your database from SQL Express to a dedicated instance of SQL Server.

- Identify the databases used by WhatsUp Gold and the options for hosting them.
- View your database sizes.
- Configure the WhatsUp Health Threshold.
- Locate and edit the retention settings for device monitor data.
- Identify three methods for backing up a SQL Express database.
- Use tools in the Admin Console to maintain a SQL Express database.
- View the largest WhatsUp database tables.
- Use SSMS to execute DELETE, TRUNCATE, or SHRINKDATABSE commands against the WhatsUp database under supervision of a DBA or WhatsUp Gold technical support.
- Understand possible reasons for migrating the WhatsUp Gold databases to a dedicated SQL instance.
- Understand the overall steps for migration.

Students must have WhatsUp Gold installed on their network.
