Structure the list of departments

Use this procedure to create departments and sub-departments in hierarchy on more than one level.

Reordering departments on the same hierarchical level

To move a department up or down in the list of departments, either:
  • Select the respective department and in the toolbar, click Move » Up or Down.
  • Click the Actions link of the respective department and then click Up or Down.

Moving a department to another hierarchical levels

  • To create a sub-department of a department, click the Actions link of the parent department, and click Create a child category.
    The Create a department page opens. In the section Parent category, the parent of the new department is already selected.
    For more information, see Create departments.
  • To change the parent of a department, click Actions  > Change parent department.
    In the Change parent dialog, choose either:
    • No parent to move the department to a top level department.
    • Select a parent to open a list of existing departments opens. Expand the top level departments as needed to locate and select the preferred parent department.

    Click Save changes
