In this role, you will join the Marketing Operations team to support the needs of Progress’ diverse and growing demand generation and field marketing teams. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Engineer for designing and implementing robust data pipelines for ingestion, normalization, and segmentation of customer data from various sources.
In this role, you will:
- Lead design and implementation of CDP solutions, ensuring proper integration with marketing data sources.
- Develop and manage data models, identity resolution rules, and segmentation frameworks.
- Develop and implement data normalization processes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and usability of customer data.
- Utilize and train out-of-the-box AI/machine-learning models
- Perform ongoing data quality assurance, including monitoring and verifying data accuracy across marketing systems
- Monitor and optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of platform configurations, operational workflows, and testing protocols to support team knowledge-sharing and smooth platform operation.
- Partner with stakeholders (IT, marketing, service) to translate requirements into technical deliverables.
- Translate complex concepts into clear proposals and updates for stakeholders.
- Works independently and efficiently, managing multiple tasks, priorities, and projects simultaneously and successfully.
- Stay current with innovations in data management and propose strategies for marketing data orchestration.
- Promote best practices in marketing data handling and integration.
Your background:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in marketing data engineering or related roles.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and best practices in data governance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to create and manage data objects and relationships
- Experience with data integration from various sources
- Experience working with large data sets
- Understanding of how ID resolution and customer profile unification works in Unity
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data pipeline frameworks
Additionally, it would be beneficial if you have:
- Familiarity with Marketing Automation Platforms (e.g., Eloqua, Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Customer Data Platforms (e.g., Oracle Unity, Segment, Salesforce Data Cloud, Adobe Experience Platform) is a plus.
- Knowledge in JSON/XML, Eloqua, Salesforce, Snowflake
- Familiarity with CRM (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus.
