GIDS 2011 Award

Latest release of agile project management solution adds bug management, individual work tracking, new project visibility tools

WALTHAM, MA, MAY 4, 2011 – Telerik, an end-to-end provider of tools for software development and content management solutions, today revealed details of its latest TeamPulse major release. The agile project management solution, which was recently honored by the Great Indian Developer Summit with a GIDS 2011 Award in the “Change and Configuration Management” category, is adding a host of new features, including:

  • Bug Tracking Module
  • “My Perspective” dynamic view for project members
  • Interactive TaskBoard for tracking progress of tasks
  • Integration with Telerik’s automated testing solution, Telerik Test Studio

As of this release, TeamPulse introduces its new Bug Tracking module, supporting the complete workflow of bug capturing, triaging (evaluating and prioritizing), and assignment. The robust bug tracking functionality allows team members to address bugs efficiently and spend less time managing reported issues.

Another important addition to TeamPulse is the “My Perspective” feature, providing users with an immediate, personal perspective on assigned stories, tasks, and bugs. My Perspective aggregates everything that a single user is working on in a single location, thus allowing team members to stay focused and be more productive. Powered by TeamPulse’s Best Practice Analyzer, My Perspective offers notifications when users are not adhering to Agile best practices.

TeamPulse is also introducing a new interactive TaskBoard, a virtual replacement for traditional whiteboards and sticky notes. Tasks are represented as index cards, organized in different columns based on status. The TaskBoard is ideal for daily Scrum meetings, allowing teams to quickly review, move, and edit cards in real time.

The new release also debuts TeamPulse integration with Telerik’s automated testing solution, Telerik Test Studio. Now users can easily define feature acceptance tests in TeamPulse and then generate functional tests in Telerik Test Studio with just a few mouse-clicks.

“We wanted this version of TeamPulse to be about increasing individual and team productivity,” said Joel Semeniuk, executive vice president, Agile Project Management Division, Telerik. “With the addition of Bug Tracking, the focusing “My Perspective” view, and other new features, we believe that teams using the new version of TeamPulse will immediately experience improved team performance.”

Other new features and enhancements included in this milestone release are:

  • Risk and Issue Tracking
  • Improved Idea Management with support for capturing customer feedback.
  • Enhanced synchronization with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) with support for Bugs, Issues and Risks.
