Provider options

There are the following ways you can get Sitefinity CMS to authenticate against other sources that hold user information:

  • ActiveDirectory membership provider
    Manages storage of membership information for an ASP.NET application in Active Directory and Active Directory Application Mode servers.
  • Sql membership Provider
    Manages storage of membership information for an ASP.NET application in a SQL Server database.
  • ClientFormsAuthentication membership provider
    Enables forms authentication with client application services.
  • ClientWindowsAuthentication membership provider
    Enables Windows authentication with client application services.
  • Custom membership provider
    A custom implementation of the Membership Provider. For example, authenticate to a data source using ODBC (MS Access), ADO.NET, EntityFramework, or WebAPI.
