Schedule automatic sync of deleted and unpublished items

Overview

If you have the SiteSync module installed and configured, you can setup automatic sync of deleted and unpublished items. In this way you do not have to manually remove deleted and unpublished content from your site.
You can specify for how long these items are kept before they are removed and at what interval the sync process should be executed.

Procedure

To schedule the process, perform the following:

  1. In Sitefinity CMS backend, navigate to Administration » Settings » Advanced » SiteSync » Automatic sync.

  2. Tick the box under Enabled automatic sync of deleted and unpublished items to enable the process.
  3. In Time tolerance before syncing deleted or unpublished items, enter the number of days for which deleted and unpublished items are kept before the automatic process syncs and removes them.
Set the time to 0 if you want to sync items with the first scheduled automatic sync task.
  4. In Schedule automatic sync of deleted and unpublished items, enter the time and the day when the automatic sync task will be executed using a Cron expression.
For example, if you enter 0 13 * * 1, the task is performed every Monday at 1 pm.
The default value is 0 * * * *, which means the sync is performed every hour.
  5. Click Save changes.
