To enable User groups, perform the following:

  1. Log into Sitefinity CMS backend as an administrator.
  2. Navigate to Administration » Settings » Advanced » Security » Users per site.
  3. Select Allow separate users per site.

NOTE: If you do not use Sitefinity CMS Enterprise license, the checkbox is visible, but inactive.

  4. Save your changes.
  5. Restart your Sitefinity CMS instance.
For more information, see Application restart.

RESULT: You have enabled user groups and you can proceed to managing which users can interact with which sites. All current users belong to the Default user group and have access to all existing sites.
