Video properties

Overview

After you have uploaded a video file into a Sitefinity CMS library, you can configure or modify various properties of the video.

To do this, perform the following:

  1. On Videos page, open the library where the video is located.
  2. Locate and click the video.
    The Video properties page appears.

You can change the following properties:

Replace the video, change the title or the thumbnail

  • To replace the video, click  Settings icon  (Video settings) button and then click Replace file.
You can use this button to replace the video with another one, in case you want to update a video without having to reconfigure anything else. This replaces the file for all translations that use this file.
  • To use a different video for this translation, click Settings icon (Video settings) and then click Replace file for current translation.
You can use this button to have different videos for the different language versions of your website.
  • To change the title of the video, enter a new title in Title input field.
  • To change the thumbnail of the video, click Edit (Change) and select whether to Capture video frame from the video or Upload custom image.
  • To change the library that the video belongs to, click Edit (Edit) button and select the new library in the dropdown box that appears.

Edit video details

To add details to the video, expand Details section.
The following input fields appear:

Edit video URLs

By expanding More options, you can change the following:

Under URL, click Edit (Edit) and enter a new URL name.
  • The additional URLs for the video.
Under Additional URLs, click Add (Add additional URL), enter the URLs, one per line, and press ENTER.
Use the following convention: /videos/<URL name>.
If you are using custom sources, you also must include the source and library in the URL - /videos/<source>/<library>/<URL name>.
  • The URL to file
Under URL to file, click Edit (Edit) and enter the URL that the file can be accessed through.
  • The additional URLs to file
