Text editor settings

You can configure which functions to appear in the text editor. For example, which buttons to display when a user opens the editor to leave a comment on the website. You can define your custom toolsets and set different tool sets for different modules.


To edit the tool sets used for all modules and to leave comments, perform the following:
  1. In the main menu, click Administration » Settings.
    The Basic settings page appears.
  2. Click Text editor.
    • To change the tool set used for all backend modules, click the Edit link of Default tool set.
      An XML list of all tools appears. You can add or remove tools by inserting or deleting.
      Click Save.
    • To change the tool set used for all comments, click the Edit link of Tool set for comments.
      An XML list of all tools appears. You can add or remove tools by inserting or deleting.
      Click Save.
    • To change the tool set used for all forums, click the Edit link of Tool set for forums.
      An XML list of all tools appears. You can add or remove tools by inserting or deleting.
      Click Save
    • To create a custom tool set and apply it to a particular module, perform the following:
      For example, you may want the text editor for entering news to be simpler and has less functions.
      1. Click Create a tool set button.
        The default tool set appears as a base for creating your custom tool set.
      2. Add or remove tools from the XML list by inserting or deleting.
      3. Enter a Tool set name and click Save.
  3. Click Save changes and refresh your browser.

Apply a custom tool set to a module

  1. In the main menu, click Administration » Settings.
    The Basic settings page appears.
  2. Click Advanced.
  3. In the tree of the left expand the module for which you want to use a custom text editor.
    For example, expand News.
  4. To configure the tool set used to enter content, click Controls » <Module name>Backend » Views »  <Module name>BackendInsert » Sections » MainSection » Fields » Content.
  5. In Rad Editor toolset configuration input field, enter Custom.
  6. In Rad Editor custom toolset configuration key input field, enter the name of the custom tool set you have created.
  7. To configure the tool set used to edit content, click Controls » <Module name>Backend » Views » <Module name>BackentEdit  » Sections » MainSection » Fields » Content.
  8. In Rad Editor toolset configuration input field, enter Custom.
  9. In Rad Editor custom toolset configuration key input field, enter the name of the custom tool set you have created.
  10. Click Save changes and refresh your browser.
