Create forums

To create a forum, you must perform the following:

  1. Get an instance of the manager.
    Get instance of the ForumsManager object.
  2. Create new forum.
    To create new forum, call the CreateForum method of the manager.
  3. Set the properties.
    Set the properties of the Forum instance. For more information about the specific properties, read For developers: Forums.

    NOTE: When creating new forum, its Ordinal value is assigned to be the last. If you want to manually assign the Ordinal value, you must make sure to update accordingly the Ordinal values of the other forum groups. For more information, see For developers: Reorder forums.
  4. Add the forum to a group.
    To add the forum to a group, set the Group property of the Forum object to an instance of a group. For more information about groups, read For developers: Forum groups.

    NOTE: You can create a forum without adding it to a group. The value of its Group property will be null.
  5. Save the changes.
    Save the changes to the manager.
