Add a flat taxonomy as a custom attribute to a page

Use the following procedure to add a flat taxonomy as a custom attribute to a page:

  1. In Sitefinity CMS backend, click Administration » Settings » Advanced.
    The Settings page appears.
  2. In the left pane, click ContentView » Controls » FrontendPages » Views » FrontendPagesCreate » Sections
  3. Click Create new and enter the following information:
    1. In CSS Class, enter sfExpandableForm
    2. In Display Mode, enter Write
    3. In Name, enter Custom
    4. In Title, enter Custom
  4. Save your changes.
    The Custom section that you created appears under Sections node.
  5. Expand the Custom section and click Fields.
  6. Create a new field of type FlatTaxonFieldDefinitionElement, by filling out the following information:
    1. In Allow multiple selection, enter true
    2. In Taxonomy ID, enter cb0f3a19-a211-48a7-88ec-77495c0f5374
    3. In Web Service URL, enter ~/Sitefinity/Services/Taxonomies/FlatTaxon.svc
    4. In DataFieldName, enter Attributes.Tags
    5. In Field name, enter Tags
    6. In FieldDefinitionTitleCaption, enter Tags
    7. In FieldType, enter Telerik.Sitefinity.Web.UI.Fields.FlatTaxonField, Telerik.Sitefinity
  7. Save changes and restart the application.
