Create categories

  1. On the main menu, choose Content » Categories.
  2. On Categories page, click Create a category.
    The Create a category page opens.
  3. Enter a unique name for the category.
  4. Choose the parent category:
    • No parent
      The category you are creating will be a top level category.
    • Select a parent…
      The category you are creating is a branch of a higher level category. (For example, animals can be the parent category of mammals, and mammals can be the parent category of cats.)
      A list of existing categories opens. Select the parent category of the new category, and then click Done.
  5. To add a description for the category, click Click to add a description, and then enter the descriptive text.
  6. In URL name, you can change the default URL of the category by clicking Change and then entering the preferred URL.
  7. The Advanced section lets you do the following:
    • Enter synonyms of the category.
      You can filter your content items by the name of the category or by its synonyms.
    • Change the name used in the code by developers to refer to the category, by clicking Change.
  8. When you are finished, either:
    • Click Create to create the category, and return to the Categories page.
    • Click Create and add another to create the category, and prepare to enter another one.
    • Click Back to Categories to discard the input, and return to the Categories page.
