Unsubscribe form widget

Use this widget to display subscribers of an email campaign a link for unsubscribing from the email campaign or from both the campaign and the mailing list they belong to.

PREREQUISITES: You have created at least one mailing list to which visitors can subscribe and unsubscribe. For more information, see Create mailing lists.

After you have dragged the Unsubscribe form widget on your page you must configure it to display the unsubscription form.

To do this, click Edit button in the upper-right corner of the widget.
The Unsubscribe window appears where you can configure the following:

  1. In the text editor, enter the text displayed when a user unsubscribes from an email campaign.
  2. Use Insert dynamic data in the text dropdown box to insert different placeholders in your email campaign, such as the name and the email of the subscriber or different properties of the mailing list. 
    For example, your message can start like this Dear <First name of subscriber>, you have successfully unsubscribed from our monthly newsletter. The message can appear like this: Dear John, you have successfully unsubscribed from our monthly newsletter.
  3. When you are finished with all the settings, click Save.
    The Unsubscribe form window closes and the widget is configured to display the form.
  4. Open the page with the Mailing lists.
  5. Click the Actions menu of the mailing list where you want to display an unsubscribe link.
  6. In the dropdown, click Properties and expand Mail settings.
  7. Under Unsubscribe page, click Select a page.
  8. Select the page where you have dropped the Unsubscribe form widget and click Done.
  9. Save your changes.
  10. Open the text of the campaign issue where you want to display the unsubscribe link.
    To do this, click Marketing » Campaigns » <Campaign name> » <Issue name>.
  11. In the text of the issue, enter {|MergeContextItems.UnsubscribeLink|} where you want to display the link.
  12. Save your changes.

When a user receives the issue and clicks the link, the system will automatically unsubscribe the user from the campaign and from the mailing list that is set to the campaign.
