Reference a new custom widget

You must reference the assembly of the widget in the Sitefinity CMS project. Usually, the widget and Sitefinity CMS project are located in one and the same solution. If this is not the case, you are not able to see the widget in the toolbox.

To add a reference, perform the following:

  1. Right-click your Sitefinity CMS project to open its context menu and then click Add Reference...
  2. Click the Projects tab.
  3. Select the project where your widget is located and click OK.
The reference is added and you can register and use the widget in your Sitefinity CMS application.
  4. Build the solution.
