Search engine optimization Agent

Overview

PREREQUISITES:
  • You must have an active Sitefinity AI subscription.
For more information, see Sitefinity AI.
  • This capability is available in Sitefinity Cloud with Sitefinity 15.4.8626 or newer version.

The Search engine optimization agent leverages AI to help content editors ensure that Sitefinity content aligns with SEO best practices.

The AI agent is integrated directly into the Sitefinity content editing experience and works seamlessly with all existing workflows and text-based content in Sitefinity backend.

The Search engine optimization agent performs autonomous analysis of all text-based fields and generates actionable suggestions upon detecting any missing or under-optimized content.

Upon interacting with the AI agent, content editors have the option to apply consistent content recommendations, displayed in-context and along their authoring experience.

Configure the Search engine optimization agent

NOTE: You can start using a Search engine optimization agent out of the box, as this agent is enabled in your Sitefinity backend by default (with your Sitefinity AI subscription).

If you want to configure the AI agent individually, you can do so via the AI agents module:

  1. Log in to your Sitefinity backend with Administrator privileges.
  2. Navigate to Administration » AI agents and click Search engine optimization.
The Search engine optimization screen opens.
  3. If you are using a multisite configuration, under Set up for..., select the desired option:
    • All sites (default option) - choose this option, if you want to confugure and use this AI agent consistently across your sites.
    • Selected site - choose this option, if you want to configure and use an individual SEO agent for the selected site.
  4. In Enable this agent, select Yes or No.
The default setting is Yes but you have the option to disable the AI agent.
  5. Save your changes.

Use the Search engine optimization agent

By default, the AI agent is integrated directly into the Sitefinity content editing experience and starts surfacing SEO related suggestions when you open content items for editing.

When opening any existing content items for editing or creating new content (such as Blog posts, News, and Content blocks), the AI agent performs autonomous analysis of the contained text and generates different types of SEO recommendations - according to the preconfigured behavior of the AI agent.
Content editors will get a notification icon Content suggestions icon(Content suggestions) indicating a counter of the AI suggestions generated for the currently open content item.

By clicking on the notification icon, they access the generated AI suggestions integrated in the Content suggestions pane on the right-hand side of the screen.

The following example usage demonstrates how SEO content suggestions may look like, when generated by the AI agent for an existing content item:

User actions upon AI-powered suggestions

NOTE: No content changes can be applied by the AI agent itself without a human in the loop.

After familiarizing with the AI-generated suggestions in detail, content editors can proceed by choosing between the following actions, integrated in the Content suggestions pane on the screen:

  • Filter all AI content suggestions available on the user interface, provided different AI agents are configured in your Sitefinity backend - by clicking Edit (Edit) under the Show section.
If a different AI agent is already configured, such as the Brand voice and style agent, the content suggestions will be generated by both AI agents and displayed side by side.
You have the option to show the content suggestions filtered by one AI agent at a time or all suggestions grouped together.
  • Apply the suggested change directly - by clicking the Apply button, when viewing content suggestion individually.
The text change will be persisted/stored in the system only when the content editor saves/publishes the updated content item.
  • Discard the suggested change - by clicking the Discard button, when viewing content suggestion individually.
  • Preview the suggested change applied inline in the Rich-text editor - by clicking Preview in editor.
Content editors need to confirm if they want to apply or discard the previewed change.
  • Restart the operation performed by the AI agent - by clicking Refresh AI suggestions(Refresh AI suggestions).
This action may result in receiving different content suggestions by the AI agent.
