Priority of Tracking consent rules

When you have more than one domain, you can use multiple Tracking consent rules to create complex tracking logic.

The rule that is higher in the list has lower priority.

EXAMPLE: You want to use tracking consent for your German, French, and Spanish websites and do not want to use it for your Chinese domain. You would also want to display the default consent dialog for the German, French, and Chinese sites and an orange-colored for the Spanish site.

To achieve this, perform the following:

  1. Prepare the orange-colored template and place it in folder ~/App_Data/Sitefinity/TrackingConsent/.
You can copy the default template and change its style to orange.
  2. Navigate to Administration » Settings » Global settings » Tracking Consent.
  3. Click Any domain, select Ask users for consent to track their activities, and click Done.
  4. Click Add domain.
  5. Enter the domain of your Chinese website.
  6. Leave Ask users for consent to track their activities deselected.
  7. Click Done.
  8. Click Add domain.
  9. Enter the domain of your Spanish website.
  10. Select Ask users for consent to track their activities checkbox.
  11. Under Template for consent, click Change.
  12. Select the orange-colored template and click Done.
  13. Click Done.
