Manage pages

Once you create your website pages, you can see all of them in Pages section. In case you have a long list of pages, you can search for a specific page or filter pages in variety of ways - by author, date created or modified, or by properties. In addition, you have the option to sort pages in a list with specific order that is more convenient for you. For example, you can sort alphabetically, by hierarchy, by the date the pages are modified, or your own custom sorting.

In addition, if you have edited any page more than once, you can take a look at the different page versions and, if needed, revert to a specific version.

You can also manage pages, page properties, custom fields, and URLs using the Pages API.

Sort, filter and search pages

The Pages management screen displays all created pages by all users in the currently selected language. You can search for specific page, and use the advanced filtering and sorting options to easily narrow down the pages you want to work with. The new Sitefinity backend UI provides a unified experience when working with Sitefinity content. Set page as a homepage

You can designate a page from your website to be the home page. When you set a homepage, when users browse your website URL, this page that will be served by default. To set a home page, follow the instructions below:

  1. On the main menu, choose Pages.
    The pages management screen opens.
  2. Click on the Settings for pages button Settings
  3. Select the Set homepage option
  4. From the pages selector select the page you want to set as homepage
  5. Click on the Use selected button to save your selection

IMPORTANT: You cannot delete the page set as homepage, unless it is the last page in the sitemap. To delete this page, set another page as homepage.

Move pages in the hierarchy

You can arrange your sitemap by moving pages in the hierarchy. This enables you to set new page parent, or move a page to the website root. To reorder pages follow these instructions:

  1. On the main menu, choose Pages.
    The pages management screen opens.
  2. Click on the Reorder button 
  3. A screen with your existing pages sitemap open. Click on any page and then drag it...
    • ... onto another page's line, the dragged page becomes the last child of the page where you drop it.
    • ... where a highlight indicates that you are between two pages at different hierarchical levels,  the dragged page becomes becomes the last child of the page where you drop it.
    • ... where a highlight indicates that you are between two pages at the same hierarchical level,  the dragged page becomes a peer of the pages where you dropped it.
  4. Once you're done, click on Save changes
