Depending on your Sitefinity setup and the defined marketing and business goals, you can track specific sites and sub-domains separately or together. For example, you may have multisite Sitefinity instance and you want to exclude from your tracked data a subset of sites that are not relevant to your marketing department's current goals, so results data is not diluted. To influence and optimize the customer journey, you need to first understand who your audience is and then understand your audience's behaviors to deliver truly personalized content, interactions, and experiences. DEC enables you to get insights from data by the reports you choose to analyze for the metrics that are important to you. You can define persona and lead scoring rules, segment your audience, based on contact data collected, define campaigns to optimize the journey of a specific segment, personalize and contextualize the experience, and so on.
Depending on your scenario, you track different types of data from different sources. For example, if you use data from a CRM system, you need to integrate it with DEC. In addition, you may want to filter data coming from employees browsing your site, and so on.
