Create a new user widget

Apart from using Sitefinity's built-in user widgets, you can create your own new user widgets.

When implementing a new user widget, you need to:

Implementing the markup and the logic of the new user widget are specific for each widget.

You can subscribe to events only in the code-behind (.cs file).

Create a new user widget in Visual Studio
Create an empty user control inside your application structure and extend it and implement the functionality. Use the Web User Control template.
Implement cache dependencies
When developing user or custom widgets, to invalidate the cache, you implement the appropriate cache dependencies in order, so that widget cache is invalidated to reflect changes in the content.
