Use the custom fields in the Checkout widget

After completing all of the steps, you must have achieved the following:

  • Added UI controls for the custom fields in the templates of the Checkout widget control.
  • Created metatypes and custom fields for the CartOrder and Order classes.
  • Handled the EcommerceCheckoutPageChanging event.
  • Persisted the values of the custom fields in to the database during the checkout process.

Having completed this, you must be able to see the new fields when you start a checkout process. After completing the process the values will be transferred form the database table for cart orders to the table for orders. If you review the invoice of the order, you will see the values appear there, in the modified template.
