Connect to Sitefinity Digital Experience Cloud
NOTE: Sitefinity Digital Experience Cloud (DEC) was renamed to Sitefinity Insight as a part of the Sitefinity 13.0 release. However, Sitefinity CMS and its documentation prior to version 13.0 continue using the former name - Digital Experience Cloud.
By connecting your Sitefinity CMS instance to the Progress Sitefinity Digital Experience Cloud, you empower your marketing and sales teams to track user behavior on your site, visualize data in meaningful reports, and profile your audience to create impactful content and succeed in your company’s business and marketing goals.

PREREQUISITES:
- You have a Sitefinity CMS Online Marketing Edition or Sitefinity CMS Enterprise Edition license. For more information, contact sitefinitysales@progress.com
- You have a Telerik account.
- You installed the module Connector for Digital Experience Cloud. For more information, see Activate and deactivate modules.
- You created at least one data center in Progress Sitefinity Digital Experience Cloud and acquired its API Key. For more information, see Manage data centers.
Connect to Progress Sitefinity Digital Experience Cloud
You connect each Sitefinity CMS instance separately and to a specific data center. Each data center can represent more than one data source. For example, a data center Sitefinity CMS may represent the data sources Sitefinity.com and the Telerik CRM.
IMPORTANT:
To ensure communication between Digital Sitefinity Cloud and Sitefinity CMS is not restricted and consequently tracking and personalization are functioning, you need to modify your system’s firewall settings. Make sure the outbound internet connectivity of the Sitefinity CMS server is not restricted for the following addresses:
To connect:
- Navigate to Administration » Connector for Progress Sitefinity Digital Experience Cloud.
- In the Data center API Key field, enter the API key of the data center you are connecting to.
The Progress Sitefinity Digital Experience Cloud connector uses this key to report user action to the intended data center.
- Under Connection details, enter the following:
- Connection name
You can enter a name of the site that is your data source. This connection name is used in Progress Sitefinity Digital Experience Cloud to distinguish data from this site from data coming from other sources. For example, if your site is telerik.com, you can enter telerik as connection name.
NOTE: Use up to 32 characters. Use only Latin letters, numbers, and “_”, “-”, and “.”

Telerik username
Enter the credentials of your Telerik account. Progress Sitefinity Digital Experience Cloud uses these credentials to make API calls to the server.
- Telerik password
- Click Connect.
As a result, you can see the connector details and usage statistics.
Enhance content personalization in Sitefinity
In addition to tracking user behavior and interactions, the Progress Sitefinity Digital Experience Cloud connector enhances content personalization in Sitefinity CMS by enabling you to serve personalized content in Sitefinity CMS to contacts representing, or associated to, a certain persona or that are part of a certain campaign you created in Progress Sitefinity Digital Experience Cloud.
