Main menu

You use the Sitefinity NextGen main menu as the primary navigation in the administrative Sitefinity backend. It gives you access to all Sitefinity CMS capabilities and functions. 

The main menu is divided into the following sections:

  • Pages
    Use this section to create, edit, and delete pages and page templates. You can change the status and the properties of pages and manage the sitemap.

  • Content
    Use this section to create reusable content items, such as news, events, blog posts, etc.
    This section displays all content types that you have created using the Content model editor.

  • Media
    Use this section to upload and organize your images and documents.

  • Design
    Use this section to create and design page templates.
    For more information, see Page templates.
  • Administration
    Use this section to:
    • Create and manage content types and to change the content model

    • Configure system settings

    • Configure search indexes
      For more information, see Search indexes.

Dashboard

The Dashboard is the Welcome page of Sitefinity backend.

The Dashboard is a preconfigured backend page to display useful links and widgets. You can also customize it according to your specific needs.

By default, the Dashboard displays the following widgets: 

  • Getting started resources
    List of useful links to documentation resources
  • Recent content
    • An instance of the Recent content widget, configured to display all recently modified content items and pages, with their statuses, last modified by the currently logged user.
    • An instance of the Recent content widget, configured to display all recently modified content items and pages, with their statuses, last modified by all users.
  • Pages with no SEO description
    • An instance of the widget, configured to display all pages with no SEO description, with their statuses, modified by the currently logged user.
    • An instance of the widget, configured to display all pages with no SEO description, with their statuses, modified by the all users.
  • New in Sitefinity
