Use modules with Sitefinity box
After you have created a mobile application and published it on Sitefinity CMS Box, you can start using it to create and edit dynamic module content items. In Sitefinity CMS Box, you can view the dynamic module and its content types and to create, edit, and delete content items.
PREREQUISITES: To use Sitefinity CMS Box your mobile device must be connected to the internet and your Sitefinity CMS site must be public. If it is an intranet site, you must be connected to this network, via a VPN client, for example.
If you do not have backend permissions, the mobile application automatically switches to Reading content only mode.
To use you mobile app on your mobile device, perform the following:
- Download and install Sitefinity CMS Box from the App Store or Google Play.
- Open Sitefinity CMS Box, read and accept the End User License Agreement.
- Enter the address and the credentials for your Sitefinity CMS website.
- Tap Log In.
All of your created and published mobile applications appear with the icons you have chosen for them.
To log out tap LOG OUT in the upper-left corner of the screen. - Tap the application you want to use.
A screen with all created content types of the module appears. - To change application settings, tap the upper-left corner of the screen and then tap Settings.
You can modify the following settings: - If your module has an address field, you must allow access to your phone Locations service.
For more information, see Address custom filed. - If you want to use the gallery of your mobile device, you must allow access to your Photos.
- If you want the application to have access to your phonebook, you must allow access to Contacts.
- If you want the application to log errors, you must allow access to Error logging.
- To go back to the screen with all applications, tap the upper-left corner of the screen and then tap All apps button.
- Click the content type, where you want to view, create, or edit items.

To go back to the list of content types, tap the upper-left corner of the screen.
If you do not have permissions to publish content items, you can only view already created items, but cannot edit or delete them.
- To search for an item, drag the screen down.
The screen refreshes and displays the search box.
NOTE: If your item has an address field and your device location service is enabled, you can search items by distance.
By tapping Nearest, the system orders the items starting from the one that is nearest to your current location.
- To view the item details, tap it.
To go back to all items, tap CLOSE. - To create a new item, on the screen with all content items, tap the plus in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Create the content item and tap Publish.
You cannot have any other status of content items, except Published. - To edit a content item, tap the item and click Edit.
Edit the details of the item and tap Publish. - To delete an item, tap the item and then tap the icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.
Tab Delete and confirm the deletion.
