Facebook like widget
Use the Facebook like to let users share your website with friends on Facebook. When the user clicks the Like button on a page of your website, a story appears in the user's friends' News Feed with a link back to your website. Using the widget, you can also display a Send button that lets the users send your website in Facebook. To configure the Facebook like widget, perform the following:
- After you have dragged the widget on your page, click Edit button in the upper-right corner of the widget.
The Facebook like window appears. - In URL to Like, select one of the following:
- Current page
The page that is liked or shared is the page where the widget is dropped. - Other page…
The page that is liked or sent is different than the page, where the widget is dropped.
Perform the following:
- Click Select a page.
- Select one of the following:
- If you want the users to like or send a page from your website, click From this site, select the page, and click Done selecting.
- If you want the users to like or send an external page, click From other sites, enter the external page URL, and click Done selecting.
- Use the Width input field to define the size of the widget in pixels.
- Choose how the feed will look like by selecting the Layout style, the Color scheme, the Font, and the Button Label of the widget.
- Choose whether to display profile pictures below the Like button by selecting Show profile pictures below the button (in Standard Layout style).
These are the profile pictures of the friends of the user, who also like the page. - Choose whether to display a send button by selecting Show send button.
- If you have the Facebook like widget on more than one page of your website and you want to track which instance of the widget generates more traffic to your website, you can append an additional parameter to each link by entering this parameter in Label for tracking referrals input field.
For example, if you have the Facebook like widget on your Home page and your Categories page, you can enter hole in the widget on your Home page and enter categories in the widget on your Categories page.
- When you are finished with all the settings, click Save.
The Facebook like window closes and the widget is configured to display Facebook like button.
