Customize workflow notifications: Register the custom workflow for content items

After you add the Customize workflow notifications: Register the custom workflow in the backend, you can now use the path to map content items to the workflow. The following procedure demonstrates an example with news items:

  1. Navigate to Administration » Settings » Advanced » Workflow » Workflows.
  2. Expand the Workflows node and select the item type with which to use the custom workflow. For example, select a news item. Configure the news item in the following way:
    1. In the ContentType field, enter Telerik.Sitefinity.News.Model.NewsItem
    2. In the ServiceUrl field, enter ~/CustomWorkflows/AnyContent/AnyContentApprovalWorkflow.xamlx
    3. In the Title field, enter NewsTitle
    4. In the ResourceClassId field, enter NewsResources
  3. RestartSitefinity CMS and add news items to the workflow scope.
    When a content author edits an already published item and sends it for approval, the result is an email message with revision history.
