If you are using NuGet packages, available in the Sitefinity CMS Nuget repository, to avoid issues, you must use one of the following procedures, instead of using the Project Manager.
PREREQUISITES: The project that you want to upgrade with NuGet package must be Sitefinity CMS version 8.0 or above. For lower versions, upgrade first to 8.0, using the Project Manager.
IMPORTANT: Before you begin, make sure that your project is not located in a folder that has any special characters in the name, such as ~\Program Files (x86).
~\Program Files (x86)
If you have NuGet packages installed in your project, to upgrade it, perform one of the procedures in this section, depending on your current Sitefinity CMS version.
NOTE: When you upgrade to Sitefinity CMS 11.0 or above, changes to the web.config (web.config transformations) are automatically applied. You do not have to manually edit it.
These procedures apply to upgrades to the latest Sitefinity CMS version 11.0 using NuGet packages. If you want to upgrade to a lower version, use the respective procedure in Reference: Upgrade to lower than the latest version of Sitefinity CMS.
