At Cloud Expo last week, Gordon Crenshaw, Senior Solutions Consultant for Progress Software, and Brad Wright, Data Strategy Product Manager for DataDirect, gave a presentation titled “Big Data Alchemy – Turning Big Iron into Gold!” During the session, the duo explained that while the potential for distilling information from big data exists, there are quite a few challenges to making that dream a reality. With DataDirect, however, the process of leveraging petabytes of data into useful information is not as daunting as it may seem.
Gordon and Brad provided the audience with a demonstration on how DataDirect drivers can turn big data into insight. They looked at the recent election to determine if there’s a correlation between party affiliation and the methods that people use to compose Tweets.
