Triple Your Virtualized Application Performance With One Simple Step

August 20, 2010 Data Platform

How’s your performance?

No, it’s not a personal question, it’s the most common question that we get from customers about our products. “Sure, you have lots of great features,” they’ll say. “But how’s your performance?” Great question! I have always loved to answer this one but I especially love to do so now.

More and more, customers are deploying applications of all shapes and sizes into virtualized environments. Since the point of virtualized environments is to squeeze as much work out of the available hardware resources as possible, it stands to reason that resource-inefficient software will be exposed in this environment. You go to roll out an application into a virtualized environment and – BAM! – you hit a wall. Your application’s performance just went from acceptable to being slow as molasses.  There can be a lot of reasons for this, but the big question remains – what to do about it?

The good news is that by making one change to an application, you can get 3x more VM consolidation or up to 300% more throughput from your virtualized applications. I know it sounds hard to believe, and I would have trouble accepting it at face value if I haven’t seen it for myself. That’s why I am hosting a webinar at 11am EDT on Thursday September 2nd – to give you a chance to see what I’m talking about and ask me questions about it firsthand.
