Some key differences from last year's Tech Ed experience in Boston.... First, we are in Orlando, Florida where I am reliably informed as my first visit to this part of Florida is an experience akin to Las Vegas with out the glitz. So far, Orlando seems to be living up to it's reputation - from my hotel room I can see stomach-churning roller coasters, water slides plus I've see three fire-works displays from my hotel window. It wasn't exactly hard to pick out the attendees amoungst the throngs at Orlando airport - not exactly hard to pick out between the natives and families dragging wildly excited children to Disneyworld. Amougst all of this in easily Microsoft's largest annual developer gathering the week ahead the focus on new technology horizons in the Microsoft space seems oddly out of place. Nonetheless, it's full steam ahead for Tech Ed tomorrow which sessions starting at 8.30 am. If you are not attending, Microsoft have done a good job of pulling together Virtual Tech Ed where you can keep up with happenings, with podcasts, blogs and even online sessions.
