Sonic 2013 Has Arrived at Progress

December 04, 2013 Application Development, Digital Experience

No, not the hedgehog. I am talking about Sonic 2013, a solution which is now available through Progress to OpenEdge Application Partners. OpenEdge versions 11.2 and 11.3 are both certified on this new offering from Aurea Software.

When coupled with OpenEdge, Sonic is an embeddable, always-available integration platform for Application Partners. Sonic enables seamless messaging and integration with other applications “out of the box,” allowing you to provide a comprehensive integrated solution that meets customers' complete application integration requirements. With these capabilities comes a faster time-to-market and higher customer satisfaction without increasing development costs.

Sonic 2013 has packaged the former MQ, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), and Continuously Available Architecture (CAA) products into one offering.

Some of the benefits of Sonic 2013 include:

  • Improved developer tools to make navigation easier.
  • New deployment modeling which removes 90% of manual steps.
  • New metrics for ESB and MQ.
  • Full Java 7 support.

If you are a Progress OpenEdge Application Partner and looking to upgrade or learn more about Sonic 2013, contact your Account Manager. If you are a Direct End User who is using Sonic for internal IT applications (not reselling the Sonic-enabled applications to customers), you can work directly with Aurea Software to obtain or upgrade to Sonic 2013.

Haven't upgraded? Don't worry, we are still selling and supporting Sonic 8.5 and earlier versions for those partners who have not yet upgraded.
