Sitefinity is coming to Internet World London

May 03, 2011 Digital Experience

This weekend I’ll be traveling to London to attend the Internet World conference. Internet World is a large European conference devoted to digital marketing & online business. This will be my 2nd trip to this conference. In years past, it’s been a great venue for Sitefinity (and CMS in general).

Co-presenting with a Sitefinity Partner

Telerik will have a booth at this conference and Comgem will be presenting at this booth with the Sitefinity team.

As an aside, it is very typical for us to involve partners during these conferences.  During past conferences (without partners) we’ve had great conversations, only to discover implementation help would be needed. Telerik sells software, not services.  Consequently, there is a great opportunity for us to collaborate with partners at these conferences. If you’re interested in working a conference with us (or wish to suggest a conference to work), be sure to contact your Sitefinity partner manager.

Touring our new Telerik London office

A few months ago Telerik expanded into London with a new office. I’ve not yet seen this office or met [in person] our new London team. I’m greatly looking forward to touring our new London presence.

My Session – How to improve your Rich Text (WYSIWYG) editor

I also have a session during Internet World entitled “WYSIWYG Text Editors: Your CMS's Achilles” heel”. Here is the session description:

Let's face it, most of the content on your website wasn't written in your CMS. Instead it was written in Microsoft Word or some other program and then pasted. This scenario creates havoc on the website. Why? Because in addition to pasting text, you're also pasting hidden styling. This styling wasn't intended for your website and creates baffling issues (unreadable text, broken images). The WYSIWYG text editor is core to the CMS, but it's also one of the most fragile parts. This session contains a TON of practical tips for bullet proofing your WYSIWYG editor.

This is a topic I’ve been obsessing about on my personal blog. However, I’ve been obsessing about this topic far longer than that. In this session I’ll present several tips for improving the Rich Text editor experience for authors. I’ll also continue to explore this topic on my blog.

If you’re attending, please come see us

If you’re attending Internet World we would, of course, be delighted to see you. Come by the booth and chat with us. We’re always anxious to get feedback from customers and put faces to names.
