July 29, 2021 Digital Experience, Corticon

Progress Corticon empowers Pincvision’s legal specialists to handle trade compliance modifications in real time, reducing turnaround time and reliance on IT.

In this Success Story Spotlight, we look at Pincvision, the number-one partner in trade compliance outsourcing. Using Corticon, Pincvision was able to increase efficiency and achieve its business goals.

CHALLENGE

To meet with the compliance and regulations in the export and logistics industry, companies need to follow international business legislations. Pincvision is a Dutch technology firm that assists large multinational corporations with trade compliance processes in customs, the environment, export documentation, EU Intrastat, and VAT.

To operate efficiently, the company must always keep its intelligent IT systems up to date with the constantly evolving laws and regulations of countries around the world. The IT team would process the changes directly in the software, which turned out too slow, inefficient and expensive.

SOLUTION

Pincvision turned to Progress Corticon to help them respond to changes faster and more efficiently. Their key technological goals were to execute their business logic and expedite the rule changing process. With Progress Corticon, Pincvision was able to:

  • Change their rules without changing code in production
  • Offer specific transactional data provided by their customers in the system thanks to Corticon’s user-friendly Excel-like frontend
  • Process large data files of thousands of trade compliance rules via the SQL Server backend in Microsoft Azure
  • Perform rules integrity checks to see whether they were complete
  • Centralize their business knowledge and handle diverse data sources

RESULT

Pincvision's legal specialist was no longer reliant on IT to implement changes and it became easier for them to share knowledge in one central location. Corticon also ensured that all rules in the system were checked for completeness to avoid errors. Using Corticon, Pincvision streamlined its services and was able to perform at the best capacity.
