Idaliz Baez walks you through the process of getting started with Progress DataDirect ODBC drivers for Linux and Unix.

So, you’ve decided that your data connectivity needs an upgrade. It’s finally time to take advantage of the proven performance of Progress® DataDirect Connect® ODBC drivers. Your next step is to install the appropriate driver and start your trial.

Last week, I brought you a short tutorial guiding you through the installation process on Windows machines. On Linux and Unix, the process is slightly different, but no more difficult. To get started, navigate to www.progress.com/odbc on your Linux or Unix computer, then follow along with me in the video below.

These instructions describe how to install DataDirect Connect and Connect XE 64-bit and 32-bit ODBC drivers. (* indicates 32-bit driver only):

Keep in mind that you will need to install a driver that matches the environment of your Linux/Unix system.

I hope the tutorial is helpful! If you have any questions or comments, don’t hesitate to reach out or leave a message in the comment section below.
