For ADO.NET Oracle connectivity, make the right choice

June 05, 2007 Data Platform

Attending the Oracle BOF at Tech Ed 2007 yesterday, Oracle graciously provided a forum for developers to talk directly to those at Oracle who drive their data connectivity components including Visual Studio 2005 plug ins. Having discussed various aspects of the Oracle ADO.NET components road-map, including what to expect as we get nearer to Oracle 11G, I think those who attended this BOF would agree with me that this BOF took an unorthodox turn. Our moderator, Alex Keh was the first to acknowledge this: Attendee after attendee raised question and issues while working with their data connectivity components. I'd classify this more as questions and answers dealing almost exclusively with support issues, rather than a run of the mill BOF exchanges. Given seriousness of the issues raised, and the available responses, I am compelled to highlight DataDirect Connect for ADO.NET Oracle provider. If your application's functionality, deployment and production environments demands that you eliminate painful versioning issues, offers full ClickOnce support as a truly 100% managed code provider, offers the best of class performance for mission-critical application, download a trial today and see the difference for yourself.
