On a day of many announcements, Pablo Castro today posted some interesting details on the progress of ADO.NET vNext, or what now will be known as ADO.NET Orcas. The latest CTP build is available, and for those who want to keep abreast of the bleeding edge developments you can download it here.
Some quick impressions: it looks like some of the manual boiler-plate mapping files generation requirements still exist. This shouldn't detract from the viability of this drop, as I believe the reasoning to push the runtime bits with what look like excellent samples is certainly preferable to hanging on for tools that may well change in the long run....
